AM Briefing from Bowlersdesk.com for Friday December 19, 2012

On the heels of heavy rains … high winds will be scouring San Diego County today.

The National Weather Service says gusts up to 55 miles an hour will hit our mountains and canyons. A wind advisory is in effect through 2:00 PM.

In La Jolla today Anti-veal activists will be protesting House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi is an investor in several restaurants that serve veal; one of them is in La Jolla. The activists want Pelosi to personally show the public the quote “the “environmental” way to confine and kill a baby calf,”

The protest will be at noon in front of Piatti Restaurant on Avenida de la playa.

And finally … today the Registrar of Voters breaks ground on a new building.

The Registrar says that the new building will be built specifically to handle election needs and improve security while it will also be used for community events when they’re not counting votes.
